The Artist

There is no point on being an Artist if one does not have
an audience
"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures." ~ Henry Ward Beecher
We are creating all the time ... with words ... with visuals ... with sound.
What would this all be if there were no audience.
Are we the Divines audience ... the great Artist and Designer of All that is?
Are we expressing the Divines Qualities in our own creations? There seems to be a constant
re-creating ... re-forming going on.

The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting. I want to touch people with my art. I want them to say 'he feels deeply, he feels tenderly
"Good art is not what it looks like, but what it does to us." ~ Roy Adzak
"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance." ~ Aristotle
"The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery." ~ Francis Bacon
"What is real is not the external form, but the essence of things . . . it is impossible for anyone to express anything essentially real by imitating its exterior surface." ~ Brancusi

I love this quote of John Fitzgerald Kennedy-
We must never forget that art is not a form of propoganda, it is a form of truth.

Thanks for this post!
It speaks greatly about the artist!

Has the wind died down there?
It's a very calm, peaceful morning here.

Hope all's going well in your day...
Sending hugs back to you!

It is so true. There would be no artist without an audience.

Hope things are okay your side.

Good quotes Andrew ... perhaps you could write a haiku about an artist. Thanks for passing through. :o)

ari4u ... yes me too likes this quote. For it seems the more we delve the more the mystery deepens ... hence WONDER! a gift from God. It was lovely to see you here. :o)++++++++

Hi Trinity,

Very nice selection of quotes.
However,I strongly disagree with the opening that "There is no point on being an Artist if one does not have an audience." Although I want to reach people and connect at times with my art in lieu of purely personal reasons, I create because it's my passion. I create because I must, like breathing.

I need no audience, despite how much I enjoy feedback. That primal need to create, in any art form, is fulfilling in and of itself, to me (and to many artists of all types.)

Notice Van Gogh's quote about feeling alive. Yes! Creating is a natural high, where many of us lose all track of time in a world of our own.

For a several years in my life, I didn't share my writings or artwork publically, but I still considered myself an artist.

You put up such thought provoking posts! :)

Thank you for your opinion ever comment is valid. As who is to say that this ones truth is another mans truth and it goes to prove that with your comment.
An artist of any type is expressing something within them outwardly. This high you feel ... I would love to hear about it ... when you have time.
For it is in this high when you are really connecting BEING.
Thank you Gel for nipping in to see me.
Hugs for you. :o)

Dear Trinity,
It is only rarely that I express strong personal opionion's on another's blog, but I felt comfortable enough here to do so for this artistic passion of mine. Plus, countless other artists before me have voiced the same opinion as I. (Others feel a different truth. All opinions are welcomed by me; I merely voiced my own.)

Your perceptive statement "For it is in this high when you are really connecting BEING." is right on target.I have written elsewhere (out of blogland) on that topic.

When, I am "connecting BEING", to quote your phrase it is as an active process, not merely exisiting. That is a concept I have read you promote on this lovely blog often.
Hugs back to you.
