No longer!
No Longer
No longer do I mourn in the mirror at the reflection of my waning youth
But gaze within the depths of my eyes in raptures at my pending eternal joy
No longer shall I be saddened and weighed down by the desires I do not hold within my grasp
But rejoice in the richness of the fruits of life that are laid before me to feast and fulfil my appetite
No longer will I thirst for the material possessions of life that are temporal and inanimate
But be quenched by Love pouring abundantly from within my heart that has be filled with aliveness
No longer will tender sentiments and nostalgia rule my life, shackling and seizing my illusions like grieving trophies.
But let me relish in my arousal of wonder at every aborning moment that is bestowed upon me and be grateful that I have a choice
No longer will my stumbling in the alleys of despair and becoming downhearted over take me
But I shall be triumphant that it has strengthened my very spirit and made me aware
No longer will the shroud of darkness obscure my view of the Beauty that resides within my ageing body
But I shall increase my vision and express the Beauty upon all I meet.
No longer will walls and frivolities of the mundane world steal my energy and entomb me
But let every stone wall I have built be clawed down till my fingers bleed and I rejoice in the pain of my long last awaited freedom
No longer will false idols of society impress me with their sad and tasteless life
But the visions of Nature …the air that I breathe … the whisper from a passing breeze … the sun as it kisses the earth … and the taste of wine and passion shall be my intoxications of love
Life is simplicity … be still and silent and listen
the above poem is a very old one of mine ... it may of appeared on earlier post.
Quotes on Simplicity
John V. Cheney
The happiest heart that ever beat Was in some quiet breast That found the common daylight sweet, And left to Heaven the rest
Hans Hofmann
The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.
John Morley, 19th-century British statesman
Simplicity of character is no hindrance to the subtlety of intellect.
E. F. Schumacker
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius—and a lot of courage—to move in the opposite direction.
Albert Einstein
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.I believe that a simple and unassuming manner of life is best for everyone, best both for the body and the mind.

I loved the Poem and all the quotes. I think as we age, we learn that in all cases KISS has more meaning than two lips touching. Thou, the lips thing is also nice.
But, then humans have a tendancy to make things comlicated, as we just do not seem to understand that we already have all that we need. Maybe that is why labryths are popular, a winding twisting path to the center, when we could just go directly there. HMMMM But then the journey is what life is about and not the destination.
The more I read it...the more I really sincerely love it!
Wow...a lot of power in that verse my friend...it's beautiful, I love the images...quite a pen you carry my friend...
Well, if this poem is an old one, have you kept your promise? Do you not look back sadly? I wish I could do that.

Thanks for the awesome poem and quotes - plus you seem to find the best pictures for your posts! :)
How beautifully written Trinitystar...the last line says it all doesn't it - when you can shed worrying about everything life is truly simpler.
Andrew we do tend to look back at the things that makes us sad ... which then in the past made us unhappy.
Of course it is hard thing to do ... If someone was selling a bucket full of sorrow ... would you buy it? No!
Although readily, each time we are looking back on memories that make us feel unhappy ... we are buying that bucket full of sorrow ... and believe me the mind will buy it every time if you let it.
It is an art to let go of those fears ... to forgive that what has made us sad. And know now this very moment you can be free. And within the Now there is great freedom for the new energy to flow in.
And with skill one can learn this art.
She smiles ... to your question ... she hopes she is getting there.

Trinity I just love this poem.Had never read it before. So many wonderful lines ,Sometimes it is so hard to see these things. And most of all these last lines
"But the visions of Nature …the air that I breathe … the whisper from a passing breeze … the sun as it kisses the earth … and the taste of wine and passion shall be my intoxications of love" dear to my heart.
"But I shall increase my vision and express the Beauty upon all I meet.
No longer will walls and frivolities of the mundane world steal my energy and entomb me
No longer will false idols of society impress me with their sad and tasteless life
But the visions of Nature …the air that I breathe … the whisper from a passing breeze … the sun as it kisses the earth … and the taste of wine and passion shall be my intoxications of love"
Hi Trinity, awesome poetry!
Alas into a child's body one is born, helpless trying to focus and learn the reach of one's grasp.
The lamb quicker soon stands on its feet and suckles up to its mother to feed
The human child does slowly grow, but lo and behold does also mature
Then vanity sets in whether it be the reflection in the mirror or the ego within ... both transient illusion in the ephemeral human being.
But if my 'reflected' image I do not see, what is to remind me who I bee. It seems I am still the same child inside (albeit attached to extended neurons, memories and experiences I be) - it seems the same being inside I still Be.
Does learning another language make me a different person, or is it simply I with another tongue.
Does another car or another home make me a different person, or is it simply I with another abode.
So it is not the outward that one be, the outward be the chariot or Temple in which one be.
Of RAM & ROM my memories be, stored as code, light one must be. The brain the hard-drive to access said store of memory, and to add or input more memory and experiences. Let those experiences be the joy of life for you & me.
Your poem is full of wisdom.
I know exactly what you mean about not bothering about signs of ageing....in a peculiar way I rather enjoy seeing them in my reflection.
Quasar,
and of course ... the outer is the fodder for the experience ... yet perhaps it is where ones view point is ... the perspective. Maybe?
Have a good evening.
:o)
Rob,
